TIH is an image file host. In my opinion, all problems related to using TIH (including download problems) belong in this thread (even if TIH might see it differently).

Yes the issue is specific to palemoon, it's just that it was the only method to download from TIH.

(Also, technically, you DOWNLOAD images from imagehosts, so it's acceptable lexicon)

Does TurboImageHost actively change jpg images from non-progressive to progressive format?

A case in point.
All these images are in progressive format (JPEG, progressive, quality: 96, subsampling OFF) changing the file size which has rendered the files unverifiable.

If you go to fajnelaski's MPL 2023 thread. MPLStudios-Year-2023-Pics-And-Videos and download the host drop.download file the images are non-progressive and verifiable.

I assume that fajnelaski posted the same files to both TIH and drop.download.

If this is so, I will no longer download images from TurboImageHost.

Just noticed this.. I investigated file integrity on all of the image hosts not long ago and can confirm turbo does, indeed, convert images from baseline to progressive.

The conversion is lossless as far as image/pixel data goes, but integrity of the overall file wasn't restored when converting a file to progressive and back with jpegtran (subsequent passes were byte-for-byte identical, though, so perhaps it's reversible if you figure out the exact method they use).

# Convert file from baseline (image1) to progressive (image2) to baseline (image3) to progressive (image4) to baseline (image5):

jpegtran -progressive -copy all image1.jpg image2.jpg
jpegtran -copy all image2.jpg image3.jpg
jpegtran -progressive -copy all image3.jpg image4.jpg

If I remember correctly, they remove the metadata for privacy reasons. Since a lot of people upload photos directly from their phone's camera roll, leaving the metadata for the whole internet to see can be problematic.

This viewer works sporadically. When I run the cloudfare test it finds no problem. For example I had good access last night and today cloudfare says I'm a robot. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

turboimagehost's anti-bot cloudflare setup is very aggressive. This forces me to use much heavier automation that consumes more resources instead of a lightweight automation that only downloads a single html file before downloading the image. I certainly understand the reasoning though -- bot traffic is way up these days.

Same here - try removing the timgh cookies from your browser, restart browser and see if it makes any difference.

I see only 8 images in this gallery. I tried logging in on a different device and got the same result.

I see 8 images which is what it says at the top "page 1 of 1 - 8 images" - so what is your question?

That gallery I linked is supposed to have over 100 images in it. Most of my galleries are now fragmented and incomplete with dozens of images missing.

I had probably 50 GB worth of rare lost media saved on this image host, so I'm asking if anyone else is seeing the same issue with their galleries and if/when we can expect them to be restored.
