About the whole kicking out-thing, having read the Nightwish-book, I can certainly say it wasn't a hasty decision. And anyway Tarja had said that the last album they made would also be her last one in the band.
As some Finnish guy said it: "There are many singers in the world who are just as good as Tarja Turunen, but only a few songwriters are as good as Tuomas Holopainen". That sums it up for me :p
