Best way to download from K2S.

Hi all,

Sorry for yet another question.
Wanted to know what is the best way to download files from this forum.
The most of the links are K2S links, but their premium packages are, with my income, pretty expensive.
I also heard about multihosters, but I dunno which to take.
Currently using linksnappy but their K2S support is bad.

So what is the best or most used way to download files from this forum?
I just need a push in the right direction.
Because I really love this forum and the content of course.

I hope you all can help me out.

One of the best features of ViperGirls is that premium only links are not allowed which means in principle, anything that's posted to a filehost should be freely available for anyone to download.

A few quick things I've done over the years to take advantage of all free content available here.

Start with the basics and make sure that your internet connection is fast, reliable and stable. You'd be surprised how much you can download using the slow free option on filehosts as long as you can leave your computer on and remain connected to the internet.

Try using a VPN. There are free or paid options, and you need to find what works for your connection and budget. With a VPN, I'm able to switch my location and IP and reset the k2s.cc timeout and immediately start downloading another free file.

Manage your downloads with a bulk downloader like jdownloader or wfdownloader (discussion here). They allow you to create a queue of what you want to download, and keep track of your downloads.

If you're downloading images, don't discount image host links. When I first came here, I had a preconceived notion that image gallerys were somehow not the same quality as grabbing a filehost link. This was false. Galleries on imagehosts are posted in the same quality, are often online longer than filehosts, and can be downloaded faster most of the time.

I realize all of the above is somewhat basic, and others may chime in with some other solutions, but it all comes down to how much you want to download and setting your expectations. In experimenting with all the above I realized that its possible to really enjoy everything here and not spend a dime, but it will be slow and take time. Paid subscriptions are great, and will enable faster downloads, but I tend to view them as a luxury and not a necessity.

For photosets Viper Ripper does a good job on the image hosts except for vipr.im and, I think, imagebam. I've used the portable version and not had any problems with it.

For videos it's a good idea to check through the various threads in the Image & File Hosting Support section to look for comments about the various filehosting sites.

Keep in mind as (free) user when you click on a K2S link posted on Vipergirls it's a referral from Vipergirls, with that you receive a 15 second countdown timer instead of 30, 60, or 180 seconds. The wait time between downloads is usually 1 hour which is better than most, as opposed to, let's say... 4 HOURS. You also get a slight boost in download speed, which does help, as long as the links are originating from VG; most other forums/boards lack such benefits. Premium accounts are nice, sure, but they too have limitations.

But what to do then with the captchas?
I cannot solve them on my own 24/7 so which captcha service are you guys using?
And are you guys really not paying for premium.

One other added benefit that K2S gives users here is that even with the free download, once you click on "slow speed download" it bypasses the captcha and goes straight to the 15 second timer. DL speed is usually 150kB/s but can vary some (up or down) depending on their current traffic. It's not exactly "blazing" speed, but it's pretty good (and reliable) for free. If you are trying to download a huge 4K video it's still going to takes several hours, but for smaller files it's pretty painless.

Okay, that is possible.
But when I use JDownloader and Vpn for the links, I always need to fill the captchas.
I do have 150 kbs but still a captcha popup.
My settings at JDownloader are for referrer an other link than vipergirls.to.
What do I need to set as referrer for vipergirls.to?

The slow download is fine for the occasional download, as long as you have a bit of patience. For multiple downloads then having access to a K2S account would be preferable, if not desirable.

With a VPN you can bypass the K2S waiting times between downloads by changing server after each download.

Why do you say that about linksnappy and K2S ?

Sure you get a 10G/day limit. But if you're downloading stuff from other hosts too, like rapidgator, or wanting to torrent, then the place rocks.

You're right, but I cannot get 10 GB a day.
I mostly get 5 to 6 GB a day, and that is, for me, not much seeing the queue in jDownloader.
Still download the rest with captcha and 150 kb/s, so how can I skip the capcha's for the rest of the downloads, I am still a free user.
16 bucks a month is for me a lot, I only have a disability benefit, and I need to pay other things...

But back on topic still 2 questions.
The first, what is the best option for downloading, if you rule out the regular K2S account?
And the second is, how to skip the captchas on a free account in JD2?

D/L from K2S as a guest right now using JDownloader and speeds are up to 200/kBs throughout the d/l

just go through the captcha and when it gives the link right click on it, select "copy link address", paste the link into JD

I believe VG's affiliate 'arrangement' with K2S means that any ViperGirls links downloaded using the free/slow download option should hit at least 200kb/sec rather than the listed 50kb/sec, though that's obviously dependent on your connection speed, what else you're downloading at the time, and how busy K2S itself is, but to be fair to K2S they do seem to pretty reliably hit that 200kb/sec mark.

So if you're only downloading an occasional file here or there, then 200kb/sec should be plenty good enough, for anything more than that though, a K2S premium subscription might be the better solution.
