I have the same criticism about her. I saw her at a small club in Hollywood and when she sang, she would either close her eyes or look down. I think she's a little shy and has a bit of stage fright. Hopefully with more experience, she will make eye contact with the audience. The difference between a good performer and a great one is partially due to the connection they make with their audience. She is absolutely stunning.

Yep, indeed. I watched a bunch of her performances on youtube.com
and she has them closed all the time. She must be quite shy, i suppose.
But man, oh man. With every performance i see, i fall more and more in love with this girl. She's such a sweetie. O+

Katie Melua is a singer/composer born in Georgia (former USSR) and living in Northern Ireland. She was announced the highest selling female artist in Britain in 2005 selling more than 1 million albums. Katie has now sold more than 5 million albums worldwide.

Guinness World Record Confirmed For Katie Melua

Today Craig Glenday, Editor-in Chief of Guinness World Records, confirmed that Katie Melua’s ‘gig in a rig’ had set a Guinness World Record for the deepest underwater concert.

Katie and her five piece band performed two concerts at 12:00 and 14:00 GMT to an audience comprising members of the Statoil Troll A Platform at a verified depth of 303m below sea level.

Katie Melua has been the biggest selling female artist in Britain since 2004 with both her debut album ‘Call Off The Search’ and her second album ‘Piece By Piece’ topping the charts. In addition to great success in Britain, her adopted country, Katie continues to be one of Britain’s most successful exports selling more than 6 million albums worldwide, remaining in the top 10 of the European chart for 6 months.
