A girl named "Anna" picks up a pay phone in New York City and hears strange voices. Seemingly hypnotized by the voices, she engages in bizarre sexual fantasies that at some point cross over into reality. This is not as good as "Repulsion", of course, nor as serious and depressing as "Deranged", but it's certainly more interesting than your usual softcore sex fodder. There's some voice-over, but very little dialogue. And Vincent plays interesting music (including some classical pieces) over the sex scenes, so you don't have to listen to the characters moan and grunt or endure the usual waa-waa porn music.

Deep Throat Part II (1974)



Long out of circulation, Deep Throat Part II was conceived as a soft-core sequel to the first ever highly successful porn film Deep Throat. The film was written and directed by sexploitation virtuoso Joe Sarno and shot on 35mm in the New York City area in 1973. It was released in the U. S. in early 1974 with an MPAA "R" rating and quickly disappeared; porn journalist Al Goldstein, writing in Screw, called it "the worst film I have ever seen." The existing U.S. version of the film now on DVD is bowdlerized even to the point where very little nudity remains; only the Italian DVD version contains the film's original soft-core sex scenes.
