People carrying on like pimpandhost are the only image host on the internet...

Any image host that still allows/specifically employs popunder advertising that seems to be able to bypass the most popular current and uptodate spam/popup blocker add-ons, even if it is only on the first click on their site in any given session, should probably stay banned...

Since this morning I am receiving the message "Uploading Disabled". As far as I am aware no terms of service have been breached (other than posting copyrighted material). Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same difficulties?

Yep, looks like registration is mandatory for uploads (unless there is another problem, don't know)

After getting the message, I did register.... and completed the registration procedure. It may take some time, but if this is the way it goes, we may have to think twice about allowing this filehost.

Same, I think since they had the problem with the servers they are doing some kind of maintenance/updates and sometimes they disable the uploading. Is not about being registered or not, I', registered user and also doesn't work by now. Some days ago it happened the same and they got back to normal few hours later. Just be patient and keep checking.

Good to hear. Most filehosts / sites require maintenance from time to time and don't always have the resources to flip to another server with the flick of a switch. We shall see .

I still don't understand why they don't mention that maintenance or update issues for their users. Just type "Upload disable for xxx hours (server maintenance/hardware failure... etc.) and we are good.

Of all of the picture hosts, pimpandhost seems to be the worst, with unavailable images even on the day they're posted. This has been going on for a long time, so not due to them having current server problems.

I hate to bump this thread but..... this post here. I don't use the host for what little I post, but brand spanking new posts have the This image has been removed. I can understand months from the posting time, but c'mon.

So, why does this host do that? And why do we allow it to be used when loads of thumbnails are 86'd?

Users may be recycling old posts and not checking if the recycled material is still present.

I'll do some monitoring and see if it's worth pursuing. Many video posters use link checkers periodically and fix the broken links.

I've already planned some functionality that stores posted links and prevents them from being re-posted until a agreed-upon time-frame of let's say 90 days. But with 60k posts/day, it's quite an effort to make it smooth.

I probably just got myself banned, but it might be the filehost.
