    VRipper (Cross-platform Gallery Ripper)

    Requirements
Direct access to vipergirls (the main site only), consider using a VPN otherwise
Alot of people are having issues with proxies, it appears that the proxies are protected by Cloudflare to deter bots, this does not play well with the ripper (of course Cloudflare is meant to block automation tools from accessing the site, including the ripper).
From what i understood the proxies are meant to be accessed from the browser only, if the proxy is working for you inside the ripper then great, if not i can't do anything about it.

Download VRipper from the Release page

    The following hosts are supported:
    • acidimg
    • imagetwist
    • imagezilla
    • imgspice
    • imagebam.com
    • imgbox.com
    • imx.to
    • pimpandhost.com
    • pixhost.to
    • pixxxels.cc
    • turboimagehost.com
    • postimg
    • imagevenue
    • pixroute.to
    • vipr.im

VRipper is distributed in 3 formats, installer executable, portable executable and plain jar files

    Important Note About Proxies
The use of proxies within VRipper is worthless, please stop using them, I am seeing multiple people posting about of 403 error code when using proxies.
403 is a response code coming from Cloudflare to block VRipper from accessing the site, cloudfalre is doing the job it is supposed to do, which is blocking automated requests from accessing the site.
I already explained this in the requirements, but it seems like no one is reading it, the admin decided to put the proxies behind Cloudflare, I can't do anything about it.
I don't think the proxy settings is working for anyone, consider this feature in VRipper as Broken. I will not reply about proxy issues anymore.

    FAQ:
My ISP is blocking access to vipergirls and its proxies, can VRipper work in this case ?
No of course, VRipper cannot connect to the site magically if it's blocked.

My ISP is blocking access to vipergirls main site, but i can access some proxies, can VRipper work if i change the proxy settings ?
No, consider the proxies feature non existent in VRipper (read the note about proxies above)

My ISP is blocking access to vipergirls main site, when using a VPN I can access vipergirls main site, can VRipper work?
    Yes

My ISP is blocking access to vipergirls main site, when using a VPN I can access vipergirls proxies but not the main vipergirls site, can VRipper work?
    No, I explained why previously

I can access vipergirls main site and all of the proxies, can i use a proxy instead of the main vipergirls site in VRipper
    No

What option should i choose for proxy in VRipper
vipergirls .to, anything else is broken

You said that VRipper does not work with proxies, but it is working for me without problem, why are you saying it does not work ?
The day it stops working don't ask why it's not working anymore (read the proxies note above).

    Instructions for Installer executable
Download the latest version from the Release page and execute the installer depending on your Operating System

Application data (application logs, settings and persisted data) is stored in
    • HOME_FOLDER\vripper (HOME_FOLDER=C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME] under Windows)
    • HOME_FOLDER/.config/vripper (HOME_FOLDER=/home/[YOUR USERNAME] under Linux and macOS)

    Instructions for Portable executable

Download the latest protable zip file according to your operating system from Release page (portable version have -portable- in the Release page), unzip the content in any folder of your choice, then run VRipper.exe for windows and bin/VRipper for Linux and macOs

Application data (application logs, settings and persisted data) are stored locally in the VRipper folder

    Instructions for Jar
You need Java 21+, you can download from https://adoptium.net/

Download the latest jar file from the Release page, open a command prompt and run the jar file using the following command

    For the GUI app
    javaw -jar vripper-noarch-gui-5.2.0.jar
    For the WEB app
    java -jar vripper-noarch-web-5.2.0.jar
Application data (application logs, settings and persisted data) is stored in the location where you launched the jar for both GUI and WEB

    Threads tab explanation
If the URL you've provided specifies a particular post number, then that post will go straight to the Downloads queue, which is the fastest way to add links for download.

Everything else will go to the Thread tab and
    • If the totals count of posts within a thread is less or equals than the "Auto queue thread if post count... in the Download Settings tab", then all posts of that thread will go to the Download tab (Default value is 1)
    • Otherwise, nothing gets added to the Download tab and you'll have to select which posts you want to download (Double click the thread in Thread tab)

    Development

Keeping this change by Mods to download v3.5.4

    Moderator edit:

Github isn't very friendly and it is confusing for casual users .

So here is a cheatsheet about what you need to download from that Github Releases page:

For Windows users: it doesn't matter you download the .msi or .exe version. .msi extension is a Windows Installer file. Just download and open it. It will run just like any other .exe file and installs the software with some on-screen information.

Do you have Java installed ?
If not install it before running the ripper.
Can you please find a file called vripper.log next to the executable, post its content (or use pastebin).
if you howerver cannot find the vripper.log file even thought you started the app, most likely you have some issues with Java.
make sure that java is on your PATH, to check that just open a CMD (win + R then type CMD and enter), and type in CMD window "java -version". if this command fails then you java is not on PATH, just reinstall it, that should fix it.

ok.. it started out great, then it gets to a set that it apparently cant grab.. for example https://vipergirls.to/threads/465288...9-Cherry-(x53)
then hangs and stops grabbing completely? Any idea how to get it to grab this page successfully?

Re: Viper Ripper (web-based java gallery ripper)

This is working great from what I can see. I just wish it had a button to show downloaded galleries in a folder. Just to be clear, I don't mean the download path for all folders, I mean a button beside every download to open it in a folder. Also, dark mode for the ripper would be cool. I really appreciate all the hard work.

I just tested the thread you mentioned, and it worked fine for me.
I suspect that it may be a problem handling those Japanese character, could use please send me the log file of the app ? it's called vripper.log next to the executable vripper-electron.exe. I'm curious to know what the issue might be
