Ok, idiots guide to TV in Britain, five main terrestrial channels, for which you have to pay the license fee (and if you don't you should be immasculated). The license fee pays for the BBC, 1 and 2 plus its digital channels, while at the same time you get the three commercial channels ITV, Channel 4, and Five, plus you've got the Sky corporation of a certain australian buisnessman, for which you pay a subscrption fee. Oh and then there's freeview, which is well - nevermind
The Beeb and C4 are quality and have Spooks, Spaced (etc) and the decent American imports (West Wing and ER, while ITV and Five are well, less so; Footballers Wives being a perfect example of ITV, Meanwhile Channel Five is... obsessed with the nazis and soft core porn (less so now)
