    Re: filehost review

In general I can't complain too much when I am getting stuff for free.

My biggest complaint about Rapidgator, Filejoker, FileFox are the one file limit per hour/multiple hours
Speed for free downloads generally sucks, but again, it's free
The countdowns are annoying but I can live with that
I just wish they would remove the limits on the number of free downloads.

I have K2S pro premium and absolutely no complaints about that

    FileJoker anf File.al Review

    FileJoker sits at the top of my list for terrible filehosts. I say this mainly with the free downloading experience in mind, because free users can enjoy;

    • Mandatory minimum of 120 second wait time
    • Wait time countdown only progresses if countdown is active window/ tab
    • Captcha fill in (I host on zippyshare sometimes, which doesn't have this)
    • Slow download speed (100-120 kb/s isn't the slowest, but it's 5-10% of the 1.2-2.5 mb/s free users consistently get with Zippyshare or Suprafiles)
    • Poor external service support (for accelerated download speeds)
    • Long cooldown time between downloads

    File.al is tracking closely behind FileJoker for being the worst filehost because;

    • Downloads only available to premium members
    • No download resume
    • Poor external download service support
    • It is ad-free, but this is probably why it's premium only...

Zippyshare and Suprafiles (and CloudyFiles?) share the top spot for my favourite file hosts. They aren't perfect, but they offer guests some of the fastest downloads available, with resume capability and no wait times

Filejoker is appalling, and by far the worst out there.

Just a note for you guys doing the 1 Milllion Captcha Challenge for K2S. If you use JD AND have Firefox set as your default browser, (only know this of the Windows operating system), you will just get a quick 6 digit captcha to do on JD. It doesn't even have to open up your browser

FileBoom used to have such great speeds for free users! Now its just crap. Talk about ruining a good product. At least Mega and Zippy don't disappoint for free usage (although porn isn't on either).

Oddly, my speed on Fileboom is really good for files >=1Gb. Otherwise, dreadfully slow.

    Bad For Free users:

FileJoker is the worst, imho: The requirement to watch the countdown + long 2/4 minute countdown + slow downloads + very long cool-down between free downloads. (I usually use a debugger to disable the blur() event function, which causes the countdown to pause when you leave the page. Takes only a couple of seconds and allows you to switch away, but it's still really annoying.)

Upstore: Rarely download there but as far as I remember, they're hideously slow and it takes hours before you can download another file.

    File.al: slow, long cooldown.

Uploaded.to: low speed, 50kpbs, 70kbps for registered free users, relatively long cooldown. Still acceptable, just barely though.

K2S & FBoom: Can be very slow, 30kbps, but they have agreements with many sites. Links from such sites usually get you decent download speeds of 120, 150kbps or more. I never encountered the captcha problems some people complain about. Cool-down between downloads is acceptable so all in all a mixed bag, but not the worst. If you're looking for special interest content, FBoom is often the only available option... unfortunately...

    Good for free users:

Depositfiles: Usually 150kbps for free users, limited ads, 60s countdown, sometimes only 5s countdown, relatively short cool-down time before next download, and files are usually available much longer than on many other hosts. All in all pretty good for free and premium users.

Zippyshare: very fast for free users, around 2mb/s, but very limited file size and riddled with ads including misleading false download buttons that try to push some crap software onto your computer. Still good for smaller files.

Mega: exceptionally fast for free users, easily more than 10mb/s, but can be problematic for really large files. Might be necessary to use chrome or even their download app. Also little experience how long uploads remain available.

    Premium:
K2S sucks for premium users: Relatively expensive, low daily download limit of 20gb (50gb daily available, but costs even more). No rollover of daily volume. I f you don't use it, it's lost! Also, apparently rather low download speed lately. At least they have dropped their high "transaction" fees on top of their regular prices. Many uploaders still seem to love them though. Payouts are probably good...

I like Rapidgator: decent price, lots of volume (1tb per month), no daily download limit, decent speed, direct download, acceptable payment options. And while single downloads seem to be throttled, you can easily get way over 20mb/s with multiple parallel downloads.

Depositfiles also used to be pretty good. No daily download limit, as far as I can remember, good speeds, direct download. But it's been a while since I had premium there, so things might have changed. For me, there's way too little content that's not also available on RG (or usenet).

    Re: filehost review

These kind of review threads are all the same on all forums.

Those hosts that pay well and on time are good for uploaders and premium users but not very good for free users.

The hosts the free users like, i.e zippyshare, mega, mediafire are bad for uploaders in ways like no paying, low file size limits, low storage space, blocked files, pop up ads etc etc.
From an uploaders view I would never touch these hosts.

Zippyshare have 500mb file size limit for uploading ? thats really bad for uploaders and they have ads ... these things are imo just as bad as filejokers trick to keep users on their website during countdown.

Mediafire ... well ne0nliGHts described very well why uplaoders wont bother with that host.

Mega .. I would never ever touch considering megauploads history.

Personally I chose the host that works the best for me as an uploader and for me its important that the host of choice is widely allowed on forums ...

Sorry its not a review as V intended to get for this thread, just thought I would say a little from an uploaders side .. even though I know I use hosts that many free users dislike

    Re: filehost review

Maybe it's just me but I loathe Rapidgator. It never works for me. It just counts down and loops back to the start. Repeat ad infinitum. Since it never works I rarely even bother with it.

Not a huge fan of Filejoker either. Long countdown, slow, long wait-times.

I have to admit, if I see something interesting I usually go find a torrent rather than diddle around with download sites.

    Re: filehost review

I like FileFox , DepositFiles, but I have paid subscriptions for those . only one free downloader filehost is worth using ...ZippyShare . most all of the free download filehhosts are useless for all the SPAM and waiting time and stingy download limits . I also have paid for k2s but it's really slow compared to DF and FF . also be aware when using free stuff for Trojans and other hacks .

File.al is definitely the worst it keeps going down all the time, all the rest are great if you pay rather then be a tight arse and get the downloads for free .

    Re: filehost review

I only use and trust these two with my files:

    https://www.zippyshare.com/

    https://mega.nz/

The both have no captchas or advertisements, no countdown timers or wait times, no geographic or IP restrictions, and they both have super fast DL and UL speeds, even for free users, and mega has a decryption key for every file.

I always use https://jdownloader.org/ to download from other file hosts, so the downloads can always be resumed.

I personally dislike and try to avoid file hosts that use ImageCaptcha, because those take long and are unreliable.

    Re: filehost review

Upstore.net, File.al, Filejoker and Novafile are the All-Time WORST file hosts.... EVER! Filefox.cc is really only bad (as free user) because it uses the dreaded 'endless' Google ReCaptcha. Most of the time Google's servers will not stay 'connected' long enough for you to give a proper response to the puzzle. You keep getting the error: "cannot connect recaptcha..try again later!" This happens when your internet connection is ANYTHING less than PERFECT (and Google KNOWS THIS and EXPLOITS THIS). Filehosts, as well as any website requiring a 'botcheck', should reconsider using another captcha service. On this point, I KNOW I am not alone...
