Jessie J was born on March 27, 1988 in Chadwell Heath, Essex, England as Jessica Ellen Cornish.
Jessie J (born Jessica Ellen Cornish, 27 March 1988) is an English singer/songwriter, currently signed to Lava Records, and Universal Republic Records. She was announced as the winner of the BBC Sound of 2011 on 7 January 2011.
Cornish found success as a songwriter, gaining a Sony ATV publishing contract. She co-wrote the Miley Cyrus hit "Party in the USA" with producer Doctor Luke, and Claude Kelly, as well as writing for Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown (with whom she toured Europe), Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera. She has been hailed by Timberlake as "the best singer in the world right now".
