I've modified a lot of code, so expect bugs.

Q: Where is .VRipper file that I should delete?
A: It's in home directory (your user) and it's hidden. https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac...unter-3520878/
or you can just write in terminal rm ~/.VRipper

    Q: How do I pause/stop downloading?
A: Close application! Also deleting big task that's in progress would most likely not stop it. If you by mistake started loading huge thread - close application, open it, delete thread.

    Q: Does it work on OS X < 10.9
    A: No https://electron.atom.io/docs/v0.37.4...ted-platforms/

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

i get the below error when enabling clipboard capture (Fedora-23-x64-xfce), but it still captures the link but no other ones and closing the app seems to close it but leaves it running in the background which i have to then manually kill

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

Using v0.37.3 linux-x64 on Fedora 21 x86_64 with KDE for two days now, there haven't been any problems. None of the errors mentioned in this thread have occurred in my installation. I'll try it on a Fedora 23 KDE box soon but I still prefer F21's stability for my primary system.

The UI is a little odd on KDE but I'm not complaining and besides, it's early days yet and function is more important than eye candy. I couldn't find an icon, so I symlinked the one in ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/ViperRipper/viperripper.png (which I may have extracted from the .exe; can't remember).

I haven't run actual tests but I did notice a subjective speed difference in VRipper 0.37.3's favor relative to ViperRipper 1.7 in wine.

I'm definitely looking forward to the small improvements sure to come, and I thank you profusely for creating this fine tool.

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

Thanks for your effort to bring this little bit of joy to Mac users. I ran into trouble with this page:
    https://vipergirls.to/threads/472499-...-(Dec-20-2010)

VRipper reports that the images are too small. Clicking an image in the browser results in a small "Hotlinking Forbidden" image. JDownloader2 pulls down some of the images but also gets numerous "Hotlinking Forbidden" results.

This page has a similar problem
    https://vipergirls.to/threads/472498-...-(Jun-02-2010)

Except the image the upper left corner can be clicked in the browser and is the only one that downloads in VRipper successfully. Again, JD2 gets some but not all of the images.

This might be something to do with a recent change to imgchili since I've successfully used JD2 on many pages in this thread... but maybe not...

I just tried JD2 on this page:
    https://vipergirls.to/threads/472504-...-(Aug-08-2010)

JD2 gets all of the images. VR gets 38 of the 63 images.

Browser is Safari, Mac OS X 10.11.4

p.s. I really, really like the "Search for original filename" function.

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

Currently I'm aware of the following issues:
    - "prevent duplicate task" feature is broken, was stupid typo in code. None reported it here so I assume it's not critical and will be fixed in next release
    - Linux user getting error about "bounce", that one I figured. Also currently I'm too lazy to set up linux vm to test it before releasing =)
    - imgchili net is currently not supported, they have some sort of temporal IP blacklisting. E.g. if I try direct link to image before visiting hosting page, I'll get "hotlinking forbidden" image, if I then visit hosting page (clear cookies and stuff) I'll still get same "hotlinking forbidden" image. But if I turn on google proxy, I'll get original image hosting page. Therefore there is IP based rules. If anyone got good ideas how to bypass it, that would be greate

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

Does not work anymore for me. Windows says it's running, but I don't see it running. I can't even force it to close via the task manager, as it refuses to respond.

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

    viller--

I am experiencing two (or three, depending how you parse them) odd problems running v037.3 linux-x64 on Fedora 21 x86_64 with KDE. The problems may be related. I also have a --<{( FEATURE REQUEST! )}>--

    (1) Although I do not have 'Search for original filename' enabled, in most but apparently not all cases, the original filename is being saved despite being turned off. Some sets are named 001 ... 999 as ViperRipper 1.7 does when original filename search is turned off. Many sets are being named with the original filenames. Using original filenames may be site specific, but if so many sites are affected.

    (2) Many sets are being named with what appear to be hex hash 13-character names generally beginning with '570', e.g., '570a665538a8c'. These filenames are not sequentially sortable and until I enabled 'Prefix images (012-)' quite a few sets were rendered collector-unworthy because they cannot be sequentially sorted except manually, by looking at the filelist for each set, provided that information has not been deleted from VRipper. ... And even among collectors, who wants to do that? ;-) This problem may be related to specific sites, but if so there are a lot of them.

    (3) Enabling 'Prefix images (012-)' does solve the sorting problem, but for those sets VRipper names with ordinary sequential numbering, i.e., 001...999, this creates extra work to remove the duplicate numbers (provided individual images are not missing in sequence, which of course results in two sets of numbers, the prefix set of which is now inaccurate). ViperRipper has the same problem when there are missing images of course.

    --<{( FEATURE REQUEST! )}>--

It would be nice if one did not have to press <Enter> to insert the pasted URL into the queue, as apart from that one instance the entire queue-adding process may be done only with mouse clicks. Perhaps an additional interface button?

I neglected to mention that for the above comment #59, all references to 'sites' are still enqueued via the vipergirls threads, not outside vg.
