    Re: VRipper - MacOS / Linux

    I downloaded v0.3 and the option to Restart all jobs (button below the job list) doesn't seem to work at all. Also, doesn't seem to be any way to start and stop individual jobs. It's a work in progress and a brilliant one at that.

    One thing that I have noticed is that this cross platform version of the Ripper seems much faster than the VR 1.7 for Windows. Perhaps it's because the UI is built from light-weight components, but I have put the two side by side and the cross platform (at least on MAC OS) is definitely faster. I hope that remains and that additional features don't clutter things up and slow them down. Again, many thanks.

    I actually made an icon a while back for a Wineskin port of the Windows app to make it fit in with OS X. It doesn't completely match up with the Viper Girls logo but it does fit in okay with OS X.

    Since you don't have an icon yet, would you like to use it? I have an .icns file made and I can provide any other resources for you.

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

    My VRipper for Mac opened to a blank, light gray screen with no functionality whatsoever. I could hit refresh and it changed to a pure white screen momentarily, then changed back to gray.

    To fix it, I had to rename the ~/.VRipper file and reopen the application.

    Dear Sir,

    I'm using MacOS X 10.8

    Is there any edition which supports 10.8?

    Thanks.

    Hi, the application does not work anymore. It is just a grey or white screen.

    Currently framework I use supports mac os x >= 10.9.
    I might try to make a build with old version of framework.

    Try to delete .VRipper file in your home directory

    I probably should add "turn it off and on" button into menu that will delete .VRipper file. just in case =)

    Here is a TODO list I made for myself, for the next version
    * [ ] Icons
    * [ ] Start/Delete multiple selected tasks
    * [ ] Fix "clear all successful tasks", should remove all at first click
    * [ ] Auto thanks
    * [ ] Fall back to "from thumb" logic when "from host" fails
    * [ ] Support threads with direct images

    Any more suggestions?

    Still experimenting with it here. One thing I've noticed - when I tell it to grab a post, it wants to rip the whole thread instead.

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

    How do we get it to download only 1 post instead of an entire 15 page thread? There is only a start/resume all and no way to highlight and start only one post.

    Re: VRipper (MacOS / Linux)

    Hi viller, thanks for this super useful tool. I've tried it for a few sets today and it seems to work just fine for me, I may switch to it as my main download choice. That being said, there does seem to be an issue with terminating (on my system at least).

    The version I'm using is linux64 and my kernel is 4.4.5-1-ARCH if that is any use to you.

    When I open VRipper (double click the icon or through terminal) there are 4 process IDs created. When closing the program through the UI, only the highest numbered PID is terminated (it is always the highest PID in the tests I did). I've found that by manually sending a terminate signal to the lowest PID (the parent), the rest close without issue also.

    If I open VRipper again without doing this manual cleanup, more processes are created and I think this results in javascript error popups and other odd behavior although they could all be unrelated.

    I'm not really the best at describing this stuff so I hope it makes some sort of sense, and again it could be my system at fault somehow. Thanks again for your work.
