Many of you surely are not aware of this, but on July 7th I decided to propose RedJohn for the Elite rank. Usually the poll is open during a full week, but Foxhuntr decided to close it 2 days earlier, so we will never know how far it could have gone!!!

Of course, I’m not talking about RedJohn becoming Elite; I sent a message to all the Elite Members (187) encouraging them to vote and less than 4 answered me, so I think the fate of RedJohn was decided since the 3rd or so day.

I am talking about the fate of the poll itself! Today this poll thread is the one with more voters (32) & replies (50 vs. 19 of the second place) in the history of the Elite Vouching Forum, it also has the slightest difference between the options (6.25%)



plus several declared abstentions, what shows the difficult choice it represented for VG members; besides, it is the third most viewed poll with 1,010 views vs. 1,020 of the second place, and because the counters are still active I’m pretty sure it will be the first one soon. It means that, on average, there were 6 visitors each hour, while the second more visited poll thread has 6 visitors each day! (This last statistic is a little tricky, because the counters are always active, so we can't obtain the actual statistic for each thread when the poll was running, just the accumulated number!!).

THE MOST important thing about this poll, besides the sane -& sometimes insane- interaction between the VG members, I think is that ALL of us learned some new things:

a) RedJohn learned that he needs to be a lot more carefull with his posts, or he will never reach a green coat.

b) I learned that several members are uncomfortable with the current infraction’s criteria/ methodology; that SA don´t believe in people changing, while Joli and Delta451 does; that V likes vocal people; that SilverK9 writes lovely & touching & that the next time I nominate a candidate I will run my own private poll first!!

c) I wanted to let anyone interested to add her/his own learning just after those ones, but I’m afraid it won’t be possible at the poll thread now

But it was a real interesting experience, indeed!!
