I've been getting fed up with all the malware alarms that the imx.to hosting service creates, if I ever try to open one of their thumbs, to see if I want to DL some particular set.
And now, I just noticed that it has managed to put an executable file, onto my hard drive, without me ever clicking anything other than a thumb pic.
That kind of shit goes beyond the pale, outside the boundaries, and any other phrase anyone wants to use, to describe intolerable crap.
So, I'm warning everyone that imx.to has now figured out how to load malware, directly onto your computer, if you so much as try to open one of their pics.
And, I'd suggest that whoever runs this board should file a complaint with them, saying that that has gone a BIGGG and nasty step, too far.

As has been repeatedly mentioned in this thread, and in other related threads here on VG, 99.9% of the time those 'malware' alerts are simply generic false positives caused by the way advertising is randomly called to the webpage you're viewing by various known javascript routines. Because those ad routines are pulling and injecting the actual advertising imagery from third party URL's completely unrelated to IMX a lot of internet security/antivirus programs will automatically detect and flag those routines as potentially malicious when in fact they're simply very fucking annoying.

Please to also note that this issue is not exclusive to imx.to, instead it's a somewhat common issue across the web, and can even occur in cases involving web-connected software/games.

This all can be mostly avoided though either through the use of a decent pop-up blocker in your web browser (uBlock Origin is probably the most popular choice at this time and is highly recommended) and/or in the case of imx.to you can avoid all advertising on the site, and thus all those false positive alerts, by simply contacting imx to make an account there that you can then log in with. Worth also keeping in mind that at least you know your internet security/antivirus software is actually working as intended, even if it's perhaps being a little over-sensitive, but better that than it not working when you'd hope it would.

Also, just an FYI: MM-YYYY-DD is not a date format, you might have better luck getting an email response if you don't use it

Your ISP is probably intercepting your DNS requests for IMX.to. Switch your DNS to a secure option not controlled by your ISP, e.g. follow one of Quad9's setup guides (left side-bar) or use the Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 Secure DNS resolver.

I'm in the UK, not using a VPN, and IMX.to seems okay to me.
