IMX usually works fine for me, but today i clicked on a picture. It took me to the IMX page. Clicked on "view image" tab, got a pop-up, closed pop-up, clicked on "view image" tab, a file was downloaded that was immediately flagged by Windows Defender, clicked "discard file", then I get a lock screen saying I must contact Microsoft to unfreeze my computer. I have had that before and just unplugged my computer and restarted it. Really fucking annoying!

Then how do you explain they have been crap for like 3 to 3 1/2 years now longer than the war in Ukraine.

If you've been having issues downloading from IMX for that long have you perhaps considered the possibility that at least part of the problem might be because your ISP is (quietly) throttling your connection to that site?

Because up until the Ukraine thing started, other than occasional downtime caused by planned/unplanned server maintenance or dmca/other legal issues, IMX was routinely one of the most reliable hosts available as evidenced by the fact it continues to be one of the most actively used hosts on here.

are you absolutely sure the file actually came from imx.to and it didn't just appear over the internet generally? (which is a thing with some viruses - trust me, I've seen it happen many many times, even with some very high profile secure big name tech and business websites open) , also would you happen to be running a computer with a 32-bit version of windows installed?

either way, maybe think about installing a decent popup blocker in your browser - uBlock Origin is a good choice for that; also, if the budget allows, maybe consider replacing Windows Defender with an actually decent internet security package that's worthy of the title, something that includes an in-browser security add-on would probably be a good idea.

Lastly, maybe check your browsers settings, and if it isn't already, set it to ask you which folder to download files to rather than leaving it in full autodownload mode.

But that's the third time it's happened and all three times I was on imx.to. And my pop-up blocker seems to work fine, but imx.to won't allow me to view a picture with the pop-up blocker engaged.

Then you clearly need to get a new popup blocker, because imx.to works perfectly fine with uBlock Origin.

put simply, what is the easiest method to DL an entire set on IMX.to.?
you guys chat like true specialists. my speciality is cooking apple pies, so you see we're miles apart.

Most of the image downloading apps listed here or which are regularly mentioned by VG users will work with imx.to, really the only apps listed that seem to have an issue accessing imx.to are (as far as I'm aware) VRipper 3.5.4 and VRipper X.

Sounds like you also need to invest in a new/different popup blocker, you may also wish to check your browser security settings (I'm gonna guess you're using Google Chrome)

I've never had a problem downloading from IMX using IHG + Pale Moon. Keeping concurrent downloads/requests to 2 seems to be the best compromise for many downloaders.

I can second this suggestion. After Progishness suggested it to me, I've done exactly this and it has worked soooooooooo much better than watching BID fight imx.to with messy results at best. As mentioned, limiting dl/reqs to only 2 is key. Viewing images on an imx.to from thread while also downloading from imx.to is a bad idea. That host is so stingy with bandwidth it makes Scrooge look like a philanthropist.

Can third that suggestion.

Occasionally you can get away with 3 and sometimes 4 if things aren't being throttled.

Also helps considerably if you have the "Prefix filenames to reflect page order" box ticked.

1. It's 2022, the internet is hostile by default. use an adblocker(ublock)

2. I have used/using Firefox with ublock, I have zero issues with imx or any other site

3. If ur seriously getting ransomwared, u should reconsider ur browsing habits.


People in this thread have mentioned that IMX downloads random files on to their PC. No one has given any filename, file hash, etc...

I'm just tired of the "IMX bad" cries in this thread.

This might be related to the ongoing current discussion, but may not be. I just wanted to report my experience.

Lately (like the past week or more), while opening images hosted at imx in the browser (latest Firefox with uBlockOrigin enabled +pop-ups blocked + internet security app installed (antivirus/firewall, etc, etc), my antivirus throws up a message saying the site attempted to execute a malware script (JS/Packed.Agent.N). This happens twice for every image you open in the browser.

So anyone browsing imx.to in 2023 (we're almost there, lads), and porn in general, or the internet in general, without a script blocker, pop-up blocker, ad-blocker, malware blocker, antivirus, firewall and VPN (especially with public wifi)....good luck....

What this says about imx.to's business practices?..well, that's a different issue.
