The same thing happens to me, the uploads are so slow that after a few minutes the entire upload is corrupted.

Something i learned after this DDoS thing implementation, after 4-5 big sets (10-15 for not that big sets) logout, then log-in again, i had the same issues uploading big size photosets and that seems to do the trick, but it would be cool to have a formal solution.

If you used old Internet Explorer browser temporarily, (it shows the series of [x] boxes that you can at least click on), you can copy the actual imx html url into Firefox or Chrome etc and see that the source galleries are still accessable - but only in an around about manner. Essentially, certain time periods are just not appearing at VG while others are, seems any around Mar 31st 2018 backwards to January 2016 are not showing.

Oh yeah, i got you now, in fact, in my goal to revive some old 21Sextury threads, i found out the same with imx links that contains the "old" URL model it seems (imx.to/img-X), sometimes to actually checking if the pictures are there (or not) i have to use a VPN to confirm it.
