No way to find a download link![]()
No way to find a download link![]()
If you look in the page header at the top of each page at the left side you will find 3 drop down menus. The Viper Ripper link is the ViperGirls list: https://vipergirls.to/threads/1498244
Yeah, except for the part where . . .
no, it doesn't do that.
All THAT link does, is bring me right back to THIS page.
I'm traveling, using an old laptop, and trying to update V-Ripper from a super-old version.
Which means, I'm trying to find a link to download any version of VR 3.0.0 or later.
And, I cannot find ANY friggin' link.
And, oh yeah, if I try to search this thread for something like v3.5.3, the result says, "Nothing found"
Instead of telling me to go look for it, hidden somewhere in a 39-page thread,
could someone please just post a friggin' link to one of the more recent versions?
And, by the way, re: this quote:
"No way to find a download link" --
well, actually, there is a way.
Just keep looking thru all 39 pages of this thread.
And, hey, if anyone can finally find it, using THAT method . . .
would you please just copy that link, and post it here, on one of these "latest posts" pages?

And, hey, I also tried to Google it.
Here is what I got:
https://vg-ripper.software.informer.com/
A few selected bits, from there:
VG-Ripper 2.9 Free
"If it were possible to award/vote zero stars, I would. There is no available source for Windows users. Website's links for all Windows versions are broken, returning the message, "Project 'ripper' was not found." Of course, if you are running Linux or Mac, that's a different story, but there is no documentation available for Windows users to install this application, or if it is there, it's buried too deeply."
Also tried a couple of other sites that showed up as Google hits.
Results:
Buppkiss. Zero. Squat. Nada. Nothing.
Or, at least, nothing useful.

Okay, I went tracking backwards, thru this thread, and here were the first two actual working links I found.
These are only for Viper Ripper 2.1.2
If anyone can post more recent links, to a more recent version, then please do,
but only on one condition:
that you post an actual fukkin' working LINK, instead of some sort of vague instructions to go look somewhere else . . .

If you're looking for Viper Ripper the latest version is 2.1.2 It is no longer in development.
If you're looking for VRipper then that is different from Viper Ripper. VRipper was created by a member on his own time and his own dime. As far as I know there is no version after 3.5.4 You will have to search the VRipper thread for the latest version which has been posted several times by various members.

This is just so friggin' HOSED, I don't know how to describe it in words.
So, I'll let that site speak for itself.
A few verbatim quotes:
**************************************
## How to build
You need a recent version of maven 3.6.1+.
The application support 2 build modes:
- Desktop app: Self contained app, built with electron includes Java runtimes.
- Server app: Depends on Java runtimes, you need a web browser to access the app UI.
Most people will be interested only on the desktop app, however if you have a nas or a server, the server app is there
for you.
To build the server app:
mvn clean install -DskipTests
To build the desktop app:
mvn clean install -Pelectron -DskipTests
*******************
Okay, then, guys.
Hope you ALL know what that "maven" stuff is all about, AND, how to use it.
Or, alternately, after I get back home, maybe I'll dig out my old and simple version of VR 3 (3.5.3?),
and just upload THAT somewhere.
Because it had everything it needed.
I just ran the install.exe (or whatever) file, and it installed itself.
But, no. Not for THIS group. That was WAAAYYYY TOO EASY!!
You are just in wrong thread. As bOOmy mentioned above, the app you are looking is VRipper, not Viper Ripper
You should find answers to your questions on that 80 pages long thread:

Okay. That clears THAT up.
Many thanks. And I say that seriously, not sarcastically.
And -- since no one else, apparently, will simply provide a link to the VRipper download --
here is a link:

And, just one last little sorta-curious question:
Why does the link which is embedded in the header, send people to a thread for the old/dead version,
rather than sending them to the newer, better version?

..again, if you were in the RIGHT thread, you would have found the link in the very first post, so not sure why you felt the need to share the working Mega link now?!! If you had looked at the main directory of this section found here you can clearly see several pinned topics that describe each and every program that allows you to rip images. There are clearly Viper Ripper and VRipper separate topics. That would have been your first clue. Vipper Ripper was the official image ripping program that a dev was paid to create for the forum. They supported it for a while and after that, if it worked, great and if not, we had to live with it. Around the time it started dying, VG user theghoost create VRipper which has taken on the role left by Vipper Ripper, but only in an unofficial capacity.
The way you imply old version to new version would make sense if it was the SAME software program. It is not. Vipper Ripper was the OFFICIAL software for the forum, hence a spot on the header. VRipper was a build made by a member. It was never official. If it was made official then there would be some expectation of support by the dev. Even now, VRipper hasn't been updated in a very long time and it has certain issues. And, just one last little sorta-curious question:
Why does the link which is embedded in the header, send people to a thread for the old/dead version,
rather than sending them to the newer, better version?
You were the one who confused Vipper Ripper with VRipper, so just own it and move on. In future without posting with attitude and "someone just give me the fucking download link because I can't be bothered to go through this entire fucking topic", maybe ask nicely and be patient and you may get a better response than you did.
