Recently I suffered a massive harddrive crash, everything is new and ready to go. Wanted to start using my preferred viper ripper. Forgot which one it was and accidentally installed the wrong one. Now that I've found the right one and uninstalled the other, when I go to click download, it still prompts me to open the one that is NO LONGER there. Please, any help would be appreciated.

This is my preferred ripper, after a massive computer crash I installed a different ripper but it didnt work on my machine, I reinstalled this one after removing the other, but still when I click download it tries to open the one that is no longer there. How do i reset this as my default ripper?
Obviously, this is likely a simple problem to remedy but I dont know how and havent been able to find anywhere that has a solution.

ViperRipper works fine on LInux under Wine.

You can use portable version, very easy to backup restore, and can have as amny instances running as you want
All the data that I had on the riper program had disappear (I had a lot of photos sets waiting for download).
Is it possible to make them back please ?

Was it portable version ? If it was portable then portable version makes lots of backups with date and time in the user folder, you can easily restore data from time you choose, and that's all I know about, because i only used portable, maybe installed version also stores backups somewhere ? EDIT: The current version I have gets an error trying to get the image hosts. Does this thing even work anymore? I'm running Linux and am able to use this with wine, and nothing else available works for me.

I just tried the link for vr_v212i.zip and it worked for me, downloaded a couple of galleries with no problem. Have you tried again?

I know alot of programs leave files behind when you uninstall them, what you want could be somewhere in a folder.Try looking through folders on the computer & find what belong to that program.It might be there.

If you're comfortable with the terminal, take a look at laxaeripper. Last time I checked it work with all of the approved image hosts.
