Just discovered this girl playing in the Stanford tournament last night. Surprised I had never seen her before. From Switzerland, Patty turns 28 in December, but on first impression she looked much younger to me. Currently ranked 8th in the world, finishing a career best 7th last year. She's been on the tour 12 years. Married 3 years to her coach, Rainer Hofmann. Patty stands 5' 6 1/4" tall (seriously!) and has those girl-next-door looks. She's playing in the finals today.

Cripes! I'd stumbled onto a Patty Schnyder post that was deleted elsewhere on a site that accepts no nudity so I did a search and pow! This pic came up! Can anybody verify the validity of this topless shot? The angle of the head tells me it's probably real. Who would go to the trouble of a fake and not use a head on headshot?

Hungary's Agnes Szavay comes from behind to beat top seed Patty Schnyder and claim her home tournament in Budapest. The fourth seed won 2-6 6-4 6-2.
