I do not know the name of the artist or the play, but Master Galitsin always loved Ховáнщина [Khovanshchina] by Mussorgsky/Rimski-Kórsakov/Shostakóvich because he said it was dedicated to one of his ancesters (Prince Vasili Golitsin, the greatest Russian statesman of the 17th century). He had lots of versions of every act and I find some resemble to it.

I did have a listen to a version of Khovanshchina recorded by the LSO. It's very nice. The solo is handed around between oboe, flute and clarinet at various times during the piece.
