Tried to download from this thread, but finding this host terrible. Doesn't work in Firefox at all with or without blocker on, so have to open Opera, and get bombarded with pop-ups. Any one else finding clicknupload bad to use?

I just tried the host using the link provided. I'm using Firefox with Ublock Origin as was able to download the file without issue. My experience:

Click on Slow Download
Enter 4 digit code & click on create download link
Click on Start Download
File downloaded at 800KB/s

Interesting, I use adblock, I get passed the slow, code, but when the last page appears it won't click on start download. Hence why I use Opera where I can get the download to start, but you have to click on each button several times and get a lot of redirects

clicknupload.click is banned. One pop isn't bad, but I can't even get to move the focus to the code input field on account of a handful of ads popping off.

At a guess I'd say it's also under the same management as dood.wf which is a banned host.

How can this be dangerous for forum users?

In the same way that malicious ads, or pop-ups can be detrimental or downright deceptive to a user, only now the ad / script / notification can be delivered in realtime, anytime, and be disguised to be a system notification.

It would be like if amazon offered free shipping, but in order to qualify, you had to agree to leave you door unlocked and open at all times for their delivery driver to walk in and drop off your product, drop off other company's trial products, and tell you about offers you might like whenever they feel like it.

To be fair, it is possible to remove/bypass that onscreen message and continue to use KatFile without following their instructions simply through careful use of UBlock Origins 'Element Zapper' or 'Element Picker' tools to remove the message window and the full screen transparent overlay that otherwise prevents interaction with either Download option. Presumably the same would be achieveable with other adblocker add-ons with similar functionality.

But even if you do that, it takes 2 clicks on either download option button to actually activate the chosen option, and then after a very short countdown timer and completion of a captcha it takes another 2 clicks of a download button to finally get to the actual download button which itself takes another 2 clicks to activate...

Long and short of it is, even if Katfile didn't have that pointless easily bypassable message window on screen, their site still breaks VG's rules for the number of clicks/steps required to actually get to the hosted content, so they can honestly stay seated on the naughty step until they fix their shit.
